CHALLENGE

With an extensive remit covering 700 functions and over 1,200 statutory responsibilities, the council is preparing for a future with significantly fewer resources. In order to meet the challenge, the council are keen to introduce new ways of working and develop new models of service delivery that will enable local communities to support themselves. The Council must operate in a different way by embracing modern practices, streamlining administrative practices in order to gain better control of the council’s workings.

KMBC enlisted the help of Oracle’s key implementation partner, Namos Solutions to help put together a solid business case for upgrading their current financial systems to the next major release of Oracle eBusiness Suite or whether to make the transition into the Cloud.

KMBC decided the best course of action was to move to the Cloud to ensure they would continue to be on the latest release and technology without a further large ERP project in 5 years’ time.

RESULTS

The Council now has an up-to-date system that will manage all its finances, with a significantly improved functionality, data integrity, financial controls and management information. The Knowsley staff adopted change readily, which is not always the case in this type of project.

The accomplishment of this project with Knowsley Council is further evidence of the ‘One Project, One Team’ culture that empowers Namos Solutions to excel and provide success.
